An art exhibition of TSUMIKI by Ryuichi Sakamoto’s MORE TREES x Kengo Kuma.
Commissioned by More Trees Japan // Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Japanese forest conservation organization More Trees Japan (founded by composer and artist Ryuichi Sakamoto) commissioned Melting Butter Studios to help launch it's Tsumiki building blocks made from Japanese cedar and designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma into the US.
Melting Butter Studios curated an art exhibition with 3 New York artists (Aranda\Lasch, Nanse Kawashima & Sonia Rentsch) who created site-specific installations using their own artistic treatment of the Tsumiki triangles. Kengo Kuma himself contributed a work of art to the exhibition, which was held at the BDDW SoHo showroom.
